Trails in Laois

Hi Lads,

I'm from Laois but I've been mountain biking with my Dublin club for years but never in Laois. Lately I've been doing a good bit on the road bike around the Slieve Blooms and Stradbally and was wondering if there are any trails around there to ride? Have you built any?

When I go up to the Slieve Blooms there is so much potential there for trails both high up the mountains and even lower down around Brittas Woods in Clonaslee, Laois could me a Mecca for MTB-ing either officially or unofficially! I don't know if the proposed trail centre is ever likely to go ahead.

Anyway, it would be great to find out if there are any trails up there.

There are a few trails about we have built and currently building ( if your handy with a shovel I'll show them to you!) If you want to go for a spin some tuseday or thursday evening let me know.
