NPS Rd2 Killarney

Course description:
Course is approx 4km long, with a tough initial fireroad climb to open mountain singletrack, then some tricky off-camber descending through fields, over stone walls and drop-offs, along sheep tracks and through wooded areas, combined with some rough singletrack sporting an amazing view over the lakes. Then short fast drop-down over more stone walls to the start/finish line.
Registration:
Online registration closes at 6pm on Friday 23/April – sign-on on the day will give preference to riders who have registered online
Course will be marked for practice on Saturday, sign-on will also be open on Saturday – time is tba
Start times:
Youth categories start at 11:00am
Non-senior categories (eg; SPORT, WOMEN, UNDER 16) start at 12:00midday
Senior categories start at 1:30pm
Lap-count will be determined on Saturday.
Directions:
From Killarney Town:
Head out the Cork road, the N22, for approx. 6KM. Just before you hit Glenflesk Village there is a road to the Right, this road will be signed for the race from Saturday morning. About 1KM up this road you will see on the Right a Sign for an Art Gallery, Just after this there will be 2 Lanes to the left, take the second Lane and follow the road. this is Shronaboy, the race venue.
From Cork:
Take the N22 for Killarney, when You pass through Glenflesk Village continue for Approx. 1KM. On the Left will be a Road which will be sign posted for the race from Saturday morning. About 1KM up this road you will see on the Right a Sign for an Art Gallery, Just after this there will be 2 Lanes to the left, take the second Lane and follow the road. this is Shronaboy, the race venue.

Please note that the land being used is all private land and is being kindly given by the landowner for our use for the weekend so please give all due care and consideration to the locals by not blocking roads or entrances, bringing home your litter and close any gates you open. There will be Marshalls present over the weekend to tell you where to park and to help if needed.
PARKING SPACE IS AT A PREMIUM SO PLEASE PARK PROPERLY AND COME EARLY.
